What This Means for the Lynx’s Season
Earning three All-Star spots is more than just an honor—it’s a sign of the team’s cohesion and championship potential. The Lynx currently sit second in the Western Conference, trailing only the defending champion Las Vegas Aces.
With Collier leading the charge and McBride providing clutch shooting, Minnesota has the firepower to make a deep playoff run. Smith’s emergence as a two-way star adds another layer to their defense, making them a nightmare matchup for opponents.
Coach Cheryl Reeve praised the team’s chemistry, saying, “This recognition reflects the hard work these players put in every day. We’re building something special here.”
How the 2025 All-Star Game Compares to Past Years
This year’s voting saw a 15% increase in fan participation compared to 2024, showing the WNBA’s growing popularity. The Lynx have consistently been well-represented in All-Star games, but 2025 marks the first time since 2019 that they’ve had three players selected.
The league’s decision to expand All-Star rosters to 14 players per team (up from 12) also helped more deserving players get recognition. This change was well-received by fans and analysts alike.
What’s Next for the Lynx and the All-Star Game
The 2025 WNBA All-Star Game will take place in Phoenix on July 19. Fans can expect high-energy performances from Collier, McBride, and Smith as they showcase their skills alongside the league’s best.
For the Lynx, the focus remains on securing a top playoff seed. Their next stretch of games includes key matchups against the Aces and New York Liberty, which will test their championship mettle.
If their All-Stars keep playing at this level, Minnesota could be lifting another trophy by season’s end.
