Local acts also get time on stage, giving a platform for emerging talent from the San Diego region. It’s a great way to support homegrown artists and discover new music.

New and Classic Rides: Fun for All Ages
No fair is complete without thrilling rides and games, and the Del Mar Fair 2024 delivers with both fresh attractions and well-loved classics. Families with kids will find plenty to enjoy on gentle rides that are perfect for little ones, while thrill-seekers can test their nerves on high-speed roller coasters and spinning contraptions.
Among the newcomers this year is the “Sky Screamer”, a giant swing ride that offers panoramic views of the fairgrounds and the Pacific Ocean beyond. The adrenaline rush combined with breathtaking scenery makes it a must-try. Alongside this, the classic Ferris wheel remains a favorite, especially at night when the lights paint the sky.
Carnival games offer a chance to win prizes and add a playful edge to your visit. From ring toss to balloon darts, you can enjoy friendly competitions with friends or family. Many stall owners encourage a light-hearted challenge, making it fun even for newcomers who might feel unsure about game rules.
Food and Drink: More Than Just Fair Favorites
The food scene at the Del Mar Fair is a delicious world all its own. While classic fair foods like funnel cakes, corn dogs, and cotton candy remain staples, this year’s offerings reflect a broader culinary range. Food trucks and local vendors bring gourmet street fare to the scene, including vegan, gluten-free, and international options that cater to diverse tastes and dietary needs.
Highlights include:
Many visitors find exploring the food options to be as entertaining as watching the shows. After all, nothing pairs better with a fun fair day than a cold craft beer or a fresh squeeze of lemonade.
Family-Friendly Zones and Interactive Experiences
